Senior Portfolio Strategy Analyst

Are you a proactive, adaptable, and diligent analyst ready to take the next step in your real estate career? We are looking for a Portfolio Strategy Analyst to join our Portfolio Strategy team. This London and Amsterdam-based team is responsible for in-depth analysis of the portfolio and generating actionable management insights for senior stakeholders, supporting them in driving the performance of the business. You’ll be part of the wider Portfolio Management team, where you will be working alongside talented colleagues from all over the world. You’ll report to the Manager of the Portfolio Strategy team, as we build on our pan-European portfolio and consolidate our position as the market leader in Last Mile Real Estate. 

As a member of the wider Portfolio Management team, you’ll be part of the core team responsible for portfolio analysis and driving performance through the robust analysis of key metrics. With a strong commercial market and real estate knowledge, as well as advanced analytical skills, the Portfolio Management team acts as a sparring partner and strategic advisor to stakeholders including our senior leadership team, Finance and IT departments, country heads, and asset managers.

What you’ll do 

• Lead coordination of Mileway’s quarterly shareholder updates, providing a comprehensive understanding of business performance across the portfolio 
  • Responsibility for messaging about business performance being consistent with portfolio data, and providing transparency on business performance to the C-suite and shareholder 
  • Compile and synthesize portfolio performance data and business updates from Mileway colleagues across multiple departments / offices 
  • Ownership and maintenance of underlying excel workbook analysis to support periodic performance monitoring and implementation of excel, PowerPoint and word best practices  
  • Prepare analysis to enrich quarterly materials and support in-person presentations by senior executives 
• Support the Portfolio Strategy Manager and team in producing complex recurring and ad-hoc tactical analysis 
  • Analyze Mileway’s portfolio and macroeconomic / real estate market data to generate actionable strategic insights for Mileway’s senior leadership team, assisting in driving strategic initiatives and optimizing portfolio performance 
  • Develop outputs focused on identifying key portfolio and market trends, understanding the impact on Mileway’s operations, identifying business value drivers, and evaluating the past and future performance of the business 
  • Communicate results of analysis to key stakeholders including Mileway’s senior leadership team, investors, lenders, asset managers, and the board via sophisticated reports and presentations  
• Gain an understanding of Mileway’s customer base, track key trends affecting significant customers and industries within the portfolio to understand their impact on the portfolio, and how the assets in the portfolio are positioned to meet current and future customer needs 
• Understand the systems used to manage and track portfolio performance (Salesforce, Yardi, Tableau, Excel, etc.)  

What you’ll bring  

• Three to six years’ experience in a relevant area, ideally in portfolio management, asset management, transactions, audit, consulting, or professional services, preferably with a focus on real assets 
• A strong academic background (Bachelor’s degree) in a relevant area, for example in Economics, Finance, or Real Estate studies 
• Desire to gain exposure to data-driven investment strategy and decision-making 
• Strong numerical and analytical skills and ability to perform sophisticated analysis involving complex and large data sets, including correlation and regression analysis. Advanced Excel literacy is a requirement 
• Commercial thinking and strong written and spoken communication skills, giving you the ability to interpret and translate results of complex analysis into digestible and clear messaging for stakeholders, including audiences with a non-technical background 
• High attention to detail: understanding that the quality of the analysis and how it is presented are critical for your output to achieve its maximum impact 
• You follow a diligent approach to analysis and automatically perform sense-checks on any output to achieve the highest possible level of accuracy 
• Long-term thinking: you are able to set up analysis and models that are scalable  
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues of different seniority levels and functional areas effectively, interest in developing meaningful professional relationships with colleagues 
• Strong values. You are a team player who appreciates working collaboratively in an environment where respect for others and transparency are key. You have a strong intellectual curiosity and are motivated by the challenge of handling complex intellectual problems 
• Proactive approach: you can identify problems, and propose solutions to address them. Once you get started on trying to solve a problem, you follow an in-depth approach and persevere until it is fully resolved 
• Strong command of English. Additional European language skills are a plus
