You and your job

As a Senior Hedge Accounting Specialist, you will ensure seamless centralized hedge accounting (HA) activities for the entire Group, maintaining Rabobank's top-notch standards. You will cultivate relationships with stakeholders, actively engaging in cross-functional team projects to refine HA processes, efficiency, and controls. Beyond your team, you'll collaborate with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Control, Markets, IT, and Internal/External Audit.

Practical Examples

• Analyse monthly hedging derivatives P/L movements after application of HA and prepare the monthly management report.
• Review and improve controls of our robust control framework.
• Address ad-hoc requests, such as EBA and IRRBB data queries.

Top 3 responsibilities

• Reduce, validate and analyse significant monthly movements in hedging derivatives P/L and perform HA under the IAS39 EU carve out and IFRS9 on a monthly basis (daily where needed) in a well-automated environment.
• Ensure a high level of assurance regarding the completeness and accuracy of the Group HA process.
• Identify and structurally resolve data quality issues.

The 13 people in the Hedge Accounting Department are dedicated to apply successful hedge accounting strategies and mitigate P&L volatility in hedging derivatives. You and your talent 

• Naturally curious with strong analytical skills.

• Completed relevant 'Masters' degree (RA or RC preferred).
• Strong familiarity with interest rate derivatives.
• Over 5 years of finance and control experience, minimum 2 years in wholesale banking.
• Knowledge and experience in IFRS, especially IAS39 and IFRS 9. Ideally, prior experience in HA within the banking industry.

This is what we offer you 

• up to € 6,927 gross per month (scale 10). Salary will be set by comparing experience levels with our internal workforce and will be indexed in 2024 accordingly to new CLA.
• Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance.
• An Employee Benefit Budget (EBB) of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out.
• € 750 budget to set up your home workplace and up to € 40 for working from home allowance per month.
