The team

We are the Risk Governance & Frameworks team within Integrated Risk Management. We are a team of around 10 highly motivated professionals owning the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework and the bank-wide policy house. We have the task to align various risk frameworks across all risk domains within ING to create a consistent bank-wide risk management approach.

We are a sparring partner for internal stakeholders in the first, second and third line of defense globally and bank wide, and for external stakeholders. As Integrated Risk Management, we have central oversight on bank-wide risk topics that are not exclusively related to one risk type, to ensure a consistent approach between the various risk types is taken into account. Our aim is to improve ING ability to anticipate and manage our risk. If this interests you, please read the below.

Roles and responsibilities

Assist in the development and maintenance of Internal control binding principles, ensuring consistent application across ING.
Build and refine risk management processes, ensuring alignment with all risk domains, best practices and regulatory requirements, and recommend process improvements.
Manage relationships and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders across different risk functions to embed ERM, ICBP and Governance principles.
Provide oversight of changing regulations and maintain the mapping between risk policies and external regulations.
Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
Continuously review and update risk governance structures to ensure they are fit for purpose, in line with both internal and external expectations.
Stay informed of best practices in risk governance, ensuring the organization remains ahead of regulatory changes and industry trends.
Manage relationship with different risk domains.
Oversee, provide advice on the policy lifecycle management process to risk domain owners, policy editors, locations.

How to succeed

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Law).
Demonstrated interest or prior experience in risk management, compliance, or internal controls.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with risk frameworks such as ERM, risk governance, and internal controls.
Understanding of how to map regulations to organizational policies and maintain ongoing regulatory oversight.
Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt in a fast-evolving regulatory environment.
