ING Corporate Investments – Mezzanine Financing

We are strengthening our global franchise by adding origination and execution capacity to our existing teams in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain and setting up new origination teams in key growth markets like Americas and APAC
For its Mezzanine team, ING CI is hiring a Director in Amsterdam. As Director in our Mezzanine team you will play a key role in growing the EMEA mezzanine franchise. You will be responsible for originating mezzanine transactions and other forms of junior and subordinated debt financing.
In this role you will work closely with ING WB’s sector coverage teams to provide integrated capital solutions to key clients and prospects of ING WB. As one of the EMEA directors in our team you will take responsible for coverage of one or more sectors or countries, depending on your experience and preference. You are expected to integrate ING CI’s Mezzanine product into ING WB’s client, enabling ING WB to build deeper client relationships and use ING CI’s expertise and balance sheet solutions to solve complex financing challenges for our clients’ C-suite.
Your Profile
As a candidate for this role you will have at least 10 years of commercial experience in banking, private credit or in an equity investing environment. A deep understanding of instruments across the capital structure is essential. You are action-oriented, self-starting and you thrive in demanding client settings and fast-paced transaction environments. Ideally you have transaction experience spanning a wide range of industries, verticals and countries. Success in this role requires a proven track record of originating and executing complex financing transactions, with the ability to steer transaction deal teams in areas like financial modelling, due diligence and documentation and to lead commercial and legal negotiations with clients and lawyers. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
